Greetings -
I've come across a set of braided cents that have a variety stated on the label. I have found a description for some of the common varieties (big vs small dates, etc.), but is there a site that describes the differences between all of them to help me confirm the label? I'm new to the braided cents, but really love them, so any expert sites to research would be appreciated!
Thanks!

A website, No. Unless you are a member of EAC. The fourth edition of the standard reference is (or at least it was I don't know if it still is) available for free download on the members section of the EAC website. Other than that the only option is to buy a copy of the book Attribution Guide for United States Large Cents 1840 - 1857 by J R Grellman. It isn't easy finding a used copy but it is possible. New copies are availble from the author at a cost of $125.
And I warn you even if you have the book, attributing Late date large cents is NOT easy. It is easier if the coins are XF or better.

Here is an image of the 1847 braided cent. The label it came with in the lot shows it is a N21 variety, but I'm curious about what features classify it as a N21. It's not a 1847/7 based upon what I can tell and that is an N18, I believe.

This braided cent was also listed as an N21, but I did not find any major varieties for this year.

The pictures aren't good enough for definite attribution but the 1847 DOESN'T appear to be an N-21. Point of the curl over the 8 is wrong.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm trying to get a better setup for quality pictures, so I still have a lot to learn. The variety was labeled on the flip, but I can't confirm or deny what makes it special. I can see all the varieties shown on NGC's site ( https://www.NGCcoin.com/variety-plu...-1839-1857), but without an additional description, I'm not sure what the differences are. I'll keep digging...

Thank you so much for that link, that is exactly what I was looking for. Now I might at least have a clue for what to look for with these variety definitions.
