Hello all, I was just looking at my pile of possible error coins with my new microscope camera that I recently got and decided to share my findings.

Here are some pictures related to the title of this post:

date with some doubling, the 4 really stands out

In a recent post I learned about Doubling from Machining, could this be the case here?

You are spotlighting and causing glare on the areas you want to show. Probably is just Machine Doubling and it reflects off a flat surface. The reason I say that is that the overall size of the devices are normal If it were a doubled die, it would show spread on the centers of the of the devices, not on the outside/inside edges of the devices.
What a DDO would look like:

I see, I was having problems distinguishing between DDO and Machine Doubling, until just a few moments ago when I was reading a thread by you on this forum.

Now I know "it would show spread on the center of the devices." It finally just clicked.

I've been seeing a lot of coins like this, you are right, Machine Doubling is very common.

Learning every day.

Thank you for the reply and the helpful images coop!

So is the length of the bars of the "E" also an indicator?

Just what we do here everyday. Sometimes see something is more beneficial than reading about it. Thus all the images I post. Getting close to 13K on my image host. Adding more daily.

@John1, which "all three reference sites" are you referring to, just so we're on the same page. I don't know of any definitive 3 reference sites, I just do google searches and find articles or websites that seem plausible, lol.
