To the CCF Without a clear photo of both sides, we cannot really say.

Pics are necessary for confirmation of what you have. There are types of doubling that are mechanical and therefore not collectable/valued.

Quote: Could anyone offer some insight as to what I have here and what its value might be? Well if it is a smaller reeded Copper/nickel cladded coin with an image of Roosevelt on it, then you have a modern day Dime worth 0.10¢ A description of what you see and a picture says volumes about a coin.

If we are talking obverses, there are not many on the obverse sides of the coin after 1989. (none)

@ Earle42 that display for shooting coins is GREAT...maybe we can ask Bobby to include it in the image Tutorial? If that's OK with you.
Edited: @ Earle42 I hope I'm not stepping over any boundaries but I reported your post to the staff in hopes to have it added.

You have a dime that was heated and shows bubbles. This coin was not struck like that, but it is a damaged coin. Just a face value coin. Altered after it was struck by someone wanting to make it look like a mint error. Just a spender. This is what they looked like when the event happened. Looks like the bubbles were partly flattened. We see this often.

I dont see how mine looks like the examples you posted. Mine has no discoloration. I would think if it was heated like that there would be some discoloration.

@ cawdaddy...the cap under the coin must be smaller than the coin. Your phone is focusing in on the cap and not the coin, that's why your coin looks fuzzy.

Thanks you for the images, such as they are. I'm going to go with a melted coin, it could have been cleaned or polished after the heating of this coin to remove any staining or discoloration.
