Hello,

Saw this kopek today. I am surprised that comparables on these coins don't seem to sell for much.

There is no edge writing and it doesn't appear to be be two planchettes.

I am curious if this is likely authentic and why the market doesn't seem to put much value on these...

Thank you!

Seems to be normal 5 kopeks 1789 EM. The grade is quite low, what is the price?

20 euro. Similar, often with better strikes, sell on ebay for 15-50.
A friend in a former bloc country can get most 18th century 5 kopeks for 10.
Any thoughts?

It was at a market... His first price was 20... I imagine he'd easily take 10... I didn't buy it, but curious why they're so undervalued.
