There is damage to both sides of the coin. Is this from the Mint or just random damage?

That can't happen during the striking of a coin.

Note the edge is affected like you would expect to see on coin damage. If it were a mint error the shape on the outer edge would have been rounded.

Whether PMD or Mint Error, I learned to ask, "would I buy this coin?" That sometimes take the confirmation bias out of the picture.

This it is a good question. But keep in mind, no real collector will move for a coin under MS 65.
