This coin was stored in 2X2 cardboard Mylar for 2 years. Recently I notice the stain is more obvious than it was 2 years ago.

Help!-Is-This-Natural-Toning-I-Hope-So-Or-Damaging-PVC-Stains?

I had soaked the coin with pure Acetone, rinse with distilled water ensured air dried prior to placing into the 2x2.

Is it the harmful PVC or natural toning? I hope there is no sign of corrosion on the coin. When I remove the coin out from the 2X2 there is no gluey substance on the coin and the mylar did not stick to the coin. Those stain area does not feel particularly sticky too. Below attached is closed up image of the coin.

The reverse looks slightly cleaner

I'll say high VG details (obviously cleaned).

The greenish tinge could well be traces of PVC residue. You can try soaking the coin in acetone to remove these; it will not harm the coin.

Yes, a long soak in 100% acetone might reduce or eliminate the discoloration. Unfortunate that the coin was cleaned earlier.

@Seeker55 and ijn1944 thanks for the reply.

I wonder do I need to rinse the coin with distilled water after soaking it in Acetone? Or we can rinse with new Acetone then leave it to dry? By the way Acetone drys very fast. The distilled water is bottled in plastic which may not be too good an idea.
