Hello fellow coinsters. I happened across this 2007 Utah Quarter. The ICA in AMERICA is barely there. And it looks as though the UNIT in UNITED is the same way. Just wondering if anyone has seen this and if it may be a mint error coin. Thank you, and this forum is great.
The the education begin. First note the size of these devices in question. Sure they are lower, but did you note that they were also larger than normal? This is a clue that the die was partly filled with grease. thus the tapered part of the device had a Grease Fill issue, not quite fill. If the devices were totally filled nothing would show. But because it is larger, just the upper part of the devices were partly filled with grease.
CoopHome: How can I tell if my coin has a Grease Fill issue on the die issue?
