Hi,

I may have missed the debate about the Penny going away. Is this really the last year for the penny to be minted & should I get a few rolls to save ?

There a few very extensive (long...) forum topics which have carried this discussion in the past.

You could get a few rolls along with the throngs of humanity and then like the 1938 Buffalos they are the most common high grade and therefore the cheapest and it will take a century to feel like you are sorta turning a profit. I can think of several more advantageous ways to tie up $10-20 for the next several decades. Spend it on a date with our significant others is a win now and in the future, 401k/IRA probably gets a better return, decent chance silver/gold 50 years down the road turned a better return.
They will make a billion or more, that's like 3+ for everyone in the country want them or not. Supply will outpace demand longer than we have years to live.
Never mind they are made of zinc and the odds the coins disintegrate sooner than they ever carry a collectors premium is very real too.
