Apologize for the quality of the photo. Difficult to see in the photo but inside the circle is a raised oblong bubble. Opinions as to the nature and cause of the damage please.

Penny's made after 1982 are made of copper coated zinc. It's common for the layers to become separated allowing for bubbles of gas to form between them due to the oxidation of the zinc core. Hope this helps.
