I'll say EF details (scratched).

That's actually a relatively tough date to source in any condition, and is easily worth $27 even if the surfaces aren't pristine. If fact it could be worth a whole lot more.
There are a lot of abrasions, but you have XF40 details. The nicks on the rim, face & hair aren't serious enough to worry about by themselves. But the injury to the neck, in light of all the other abrasions, does risk eliciting a details grade if you slab this coin.
It's pretty hard to tell with these pics whether the surfaces have been tampered with. If the pics are accurate, I think it might have spent time in some extreme environments (like 15 years in a slightly damp box, perhaps).
I'm not usually an acetone champion. Acetone does not react with silver or copper, but it can nonetheless turn a nice coin into one that's less nice, by mottling tarnish and creating unpleasant residues. But this is one coin that might benefit from a soak in pure hardware-store acetone (not nail polish remover). Don't wipe or rub it in any way, just soak it for a while.

obverse XF45 reverse AU50. under all the street grime there are quite a bit of marks/scratches/scuffs. the rims are a little chewed up and there is a pretty good hit across the shield. if you soak this in acetone it could remove quite a bit however it will highlight all these marks. i'd leave her as is. i'd put this one at XF details but still a nice low mintage coin. the price of these barbers in XF or better continues to increase in value and I would think this one is still worth more then $100 so you did pretty good with that box

To me, it is an XF45 and I think it would probably get a details grade although its not a certainty. I find that a 5 minute acetone bath works wonders for Barbers.

Very interesting coin and just think of the who and how that coin made it to Europe. Looks like once in England that coin sat in someone's house or in a knickknack box for 4 generations? Soldier, sailor, tourist, American entrepreneurs ha! maybe John Bull himself? EF-45 details $100- 150.00 on ebay. Good bargain on a tough year and mint issue. Love them Barbers.
