I think I can anticipate the responses on this, but just for curiosity I would appreciate some thoughts...

Obviously it is in a pendant, but it's also polished. A beautiful coin... But worth approx $46?

As a coin or a piece of jewelry?

As a coin, it's likely it's damaged from being mounted for use as a pendant. The damage most likely significantly reduces the value of the coin to the point its value is likely tied to its intrinsic value - about $10.

As a piece of jewelry, some might pay $45. I think it would depend on how much silver is in the pendant mount.

Exactly what I'm thinking. The whole piece is worth whatever melt value is.

Yes, this is a beautiful type ... I have also thought of buying one for the representation of San Marino.

But be careful. I am not sure this is the real coin, maybe a medal or replica.

I am pretty sure it is a real example, but I don't think it's worth $45...

I am 90% confident this is not the real 20 lire coin. On the reverse, the engraver's name is not present on the crenellated wall, and the symbol below the 20 L. plaque is not correct. There is also the unnatural color/appearance

I think for about twice this price you could eventually get a real one in nicer condition.

Buona fortuna!

@tdz... I think you are right! Goes to show how much more I have to learn.
As it turns out, this is a common pendant available at some time in Italy .... As jewelry and not made from original coins....
I have spotted many fakes, but annoyed this one got past me ... Fortunately I did not buy it. Thank you all ...
