I wanted everything in a PCGS slab. So did it cross at any grade?

I'll say MS-64BN at best.

Many small contact marks, some uneven in the brown on the reverse.

TPG - 63 but I like it as a 64.

This is why grading is so hard. For the normal person it's very confusing. After cracking out the coin and taking a closer look with the only loupe I had at the time, I told myself "Darn I should have left this coin alone", I thought I detected some wear. Being new to the game I was hoping that maybe some years and mints may have weaker strikes. I then read that the 1919-s typically has a softer strike and was hoping that this was the case. WRONG so I went from ms-64 to au-58 over a 200 dollar drop in value. A coin I paid 50 dollars 18 years ago then grading fees of 24 dollars is now less than I paid for it. OH WELL Not always a happy ending.

OUCH! The pictures aren't telling the story. Now that I look again and closer, the jaw, cheek/beard & temple have slight rub and the reverse has numerous ticks on the devices indicative of some circulation.
