Didn't know what to make of this, looks as if O from One Cent was struck through on obverse. was hoping for insight and opinions.

Just looks like someone tried to drill a hole in it. Not a mint error, there is nothing during the minting process that would cause this.

There is no possible way for that to happen during the striking of the coin.

I had a Liberty Head nickel that looked like that, but I acquired a better specimen last year and the holed one went with me on my vacation last December. I spent it in a ticket machine at the SunRail train station in Orlando. So if you're roll hunting in Florida, look out for it!
