As I go through and inventory all of the slabs (ex's coin collection) I am finding various names for the same coin series making it hard to group things properly. After researching yesterday I learned that "first release" "early release" are just trademarked names and not true discriptions of value - but I was sorting quarter slabs and found a bunch marked "America the Beautiful" "America's treasures" and such only to figure out they were part of the National Park Series. Do companies make up their own name for a series of coins? I expected to find name standards across the companies, but I am learning this doesn't seem to be the case.

I just need some confirmation so I can group the slabs properly. I am guessing that a complete set is more valuable that single coins in this case...

Thanks, Carol

most of those names are just marketing ploys, if you gather the coins by denomination, then arrange each denomination by year, you'll have them in the order collectors generally prefer

Like nick said, it's all marketing and has little real meaning.

For what it is worth, the full program name is "America's Beautiful National Parks Quarter Dollar Coin." That is a lot to fit on a label, so abbreviation is expected.
