Hello everyone. I found this quarter in pocket change. It has its obvious signs of being well circulated but as far as its color, can anyone maybe give me their experienced based opinion on whether this quarter has somehow possibly lost its clad layers or if its
just cool toning. It scales out at 5.66g which I believe pushes it towards the notion of it being toned but I sure would like the input of other, much more experienced pairs of eyes. Thanks!

The damage on the coin tells me this coin was altered. Possible heating of the coin, but not enough to make it bulge.

Environmental toning/tarnishing. These are common.

Thanks for all the input from everyone! I value all info given from experienced sources. I kinda thought I was correct in leaning towards it being toned rather than the alternate but I just had to be sure. And who better to ask than the folks here? Thanks again!
