My paw in law handed me a crown royal bag, almost full, of mostly 1960 Philly & Denver mints, with a few 1970 S's inside. I've been looking at em for too long and I'm pretty sure my eyes are crossing, or I'm seeing all my surroundings wat 10X magnification, or something, but I THINK I may have found at least 2 small dates, so here it goes! I'm fully expecting to be disappointed, when everyone tells me otherwise! And yes I know about the search engine at the top of the page, the illustrations provided by Mr Coop, and the plethora of BS provided by most internet search engines! And I'm aware of the CCF suggestions about only posting one coin, but it sure seems easier and quicker to just post these few pics on the same thread, and a simple yes or no, to each pic (I'll attempt to Number the pics to maybe avoid some confusion!

agree, that your 1960 D are small date Lincoln cents

all of the 1970 S are large dates.

Agree with levelsofmadnesss. Try a Google image search for '1970 S cent small date' and examine the images which come up.

Nice finds. The toughie is the 1960 Philly small date. I've never found one in circulation.

Knowing what to look at makes it a lot easier with the simple solutions:
1960 Small date:

The Philly are the premium for the small dates. The Denver ones are common ones as the 50/50 split makes these easier to find.

1970-S Small dates: (Looking on internet, a simple solution is a business card:

These can be used on anything questionable 1970-S posted on the sites. Know what to look for, a card make is easy even with they tilt the images, the card show the right answers.

On the Scope, what to look for is simple:

Note the curl on the '9'. That is where to look first:

Top of the digits should all be the same height if it is a small date.

And see to my "unseasoned" eyes, #5 looks like it would pass the business card test?

Be sure to check the 'curve/tail' of the small date 9 example. That's a key identifier. Your #5 doesn't match the small date 9.

Nope. Just a large date. The bottom of the 7 is lower than the other devices. also the curve is missing off of the '9'.
