Hi, I acquired a coin today that seems to have a problem with the NGC holder. There is a very prominent bulge on the front of the holder (see attached pic, and note the seam between the label and the coin); it won't stack properly with other NGC holders, and you can see in my pic a lot of abrasions on the high point of the bulge from rubbing against other holders in the past. I've never seen this before, and I'm not really sure what would cause it.

The seller I purchased this from usually mentions issues with holders (chips, cracks, etc.), but didn't say anything about this one. It's not noticeable looking at the coin straight on, but very noticeable even just holding it, or as I mentioned, when trying to stack it.

My question is this; if this was your coin, would you have it re-holdered? My inclination is to just use some plastic polish to remove the abrasions and leave it at that for now.

For free.
Although you would probably have to pay postage -- at least one way.
Give them a call and see what they say.

I think I will do that. Even though it's not an expensive coin, it's bothering me more the more I look at it. The dealer offered to pay to have it reholdered, but as mentioned I'd expect NGC would do this for free.
Thanks!
