As we were looking at a fake superman gold coin on ebay this week, I thought they are still out there. Check this out. Queen's 90th celebration coin was $99.95 at mint.ca. Walmart.ca sells something soooo similar. Where the real coin says CANADA 20 DOLLARS, the one from Walmart says CANADA ONE OUNCE - but otherwise, too similar, and an ounce of "silver?" for $9.65 https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/ER-Que...4SY9ZLAMELL1Edited by Dcadon 03/15/2022 9:58 pm

Probably a 3rd party seller. Walmart allows external sellers.

In specifications it says material "other", meaning it's a plated 1oz round with a core of who knows what.

This is fake for sure. Just don't know if they pay the designer copy right fees. Because they sell this in Walmart, and they did mention this is gold plated alloy coin.

Idk if this would qualify legally as a fake bullion round. Always read the description... Is it a bit misleading and close looking to the real deal? Not at all if you red the description... Do I agree with such things? Nope. It's essentially a fantasy bullion round,I'm not sure if you need rights to use a Design from someone else but I assume so(at least in Canada) so if they have the rights and ability to produce such a fantasy round then it would be up to the buyer to read the "ingredients". You can but vegan soup or vegetable soup, vegan must be vegan, vegetable soup could be in beef broth. It's not a legitimate RCM coin or round which is clear if you know what to look for... This is where buyer knowledge comes into play. You wouldn't but a leaf blower that looks like a vacuum if the description said suction only lol Anyways newer buyers are not aware of the schemes with these sort of things so I disagree with this sort of thing. As for "right or wrong"...any buyer should know what they are doing and what they are buying, if the information is shown as to what your buying then it's your responsibility.

Quote: It is the hope of the sellers of such coins that you don't know. there is just nothing that can be done other then file a complaint that you disagree with then selling misleading items of which many sellers do legally all the time. I completely disagree with the morals of this and as a buyer Only so far make sure to do my research. I actually recently myself posted about a coin like this and deleted the post because I realised the description stated it was not what I thought. Anyways buyer beware and always read the label. There is nothing "illegal" about it so idk what could be done about these kinds of listings.

Ok. There are many ways to fight this crap. I will not debate the erroneous opinions voiced. 1) As most people who comment in this section (of a wonderful chat site) have a direct pipeline to the RCM... USE IT! Show the Mint the advertisement and they will be all over it with a "Cease and Desist"................. 2) Contact Law enforcement. 3) Contact the press. Find the right reporter.....it can be fun.....I bet Jesse R. from CCN would enjoy a story like this. DO SOMETHING! lolol
