A die crack it is. Nice photography, makes it easy to identify.

Thank you. I just recently got a new Microscope. I was hopeful it would work much better.

Very nice spike head, none listed on COC for that year/mint either, nice discovery! Here is a link. http://cuds-on-coins.com/jefferson-...s-1938-1999/As said, very nice pics. Can you take that new scope and get us a closeup of the date and of the mint mark?

Thank you, Morph, for the pics. I thought I saw distortion in the date and also the mm and wanted to check out the possibility of a DDO or RPM. Our own Tanman has the discovery for the only DDO listing I could find but I do not see any hub doubling in yours. Here is a link and your pic. LINK https://www2.briansvarietycoins.com...gs/view/1679 Here is a pic of your mm and a link of the closest thing I could find to what looks similar to yours but is not it. I cannot tell for sure if yours is even an RPM, because of the shadowing that is in your pic. Yours looks like there is something going on at the northwest point of the mm and the west. LINK http://www.varietyvista.com/05%20JN...0DRPM001.htm Your pic. Thanks again for taking time to give us the pics.

I will do that. It just so happens that in the two rolls of coins I had I found two more coins with the same error.
