This 1974S LMC appears to have class V doubling on the obverse and reverse. I was looking at the doubling and at first thought maybe Machine Doubling or die deteriation. After doing alittle research on the different types of doubling I started straying away from those conclusions. Die marks as well as the pivot points are visible for the devices or hit the rim and everything seems to push out towards the rim as this class seemed to indicate. Lincolns head has what appears to be a nice die crack. The mint mark appears to be of the small type and maybe a RPM or OMM? Lincolns pedestal in the memorial has the faint line under Lincoln. In the memorial Lincoln has what appears to be doubled to his right, our left. I was not able to find this variety anywhere so any feedback on this coin, of what I'm seeing or confirmation would be appreciated. Or let me know what your take on it is. Lincoln also appears to have a nice die crack on his head. Could this have caused such issues on the obverse? Sorry about all the pictures I just wanted to show what I am referring to and seeing. .
Edit: I just noticed I posted this in the US modern coin forum and not the error and varieties forum but don't know how to move it.

With the pics provided, I do not see any hub doubling.

@makescents do you think it just die deteriation or Machine Doubling?

I agree with Makescents.
Looking like Die Deterioration to me.

@petespockets, thanks for the response and opinion on this coin.
@makescents, I will take some hopefully better pics of this cent. This micro camera I have been using stinks and broke on me today. I have a new better model arriving tomorrow.

@makescents, thank you very much. There are very helpful people here. I just want to learn more and understand the different errors and varieties. Some individuals on here just seem to enjoy dictating what a coin isn't with complete absolution, rude, without offering direction, correction or offering what they do see if someone is incorrect. That is not what I would call educational more like a secret elitism type web society. I guess numerist groups are a former form of Masons group. Maybe they still are. I was told this is a website of learning. Again many are helpful on here. I do respect individuals with years committed to the art of coin currency, errors and varieties.
Thanks again.

As with anything in life, just be patient and pay attention. Lots of good info out there too, just need to know where to look.

Doubled dies:
VV http://www.varietyvista.com/
cc https://coppercoins.com/
Wexler https://doubleddie.com/
Brian's Variety Coins https://www2.briansvarietycoins.com/
LCR http://www.lincolncentresource.com/

Errors and SOOO much more:
Error Ref https://www.error-ref.com/

Clashes:
MAD Die Clashes https://www.maddieclashes.com/

Cuds and SOOO much more:
Cuds On Coins http://cuds-on-coins.com/

There are other good links I have lost too. This should get you started though. The doubled die links I gave you have lots of extra info in them too. I just suggest getting on each site I've given you and surf. Take your time and don't over do it or you'll get burned out. I learned what little I know over several years.

@makescents, thank you for the links and additional information. I do have all these sites marked down and use them daily. It will be easier now having them all jotted down here for quick link reference points moving forward. My father collected variety and error coins for as long as I could remember. I personally never got into collecting until a few years ago after my father passed on. If my father were still here I would be learning directly from him. My issue is that I can usually tell when something is off with a coin. That said it doesn't mean I always understand the variety or error involved. Even minor, no premium, MD and misaligned die struck coins are not so common when you think how many coins are struck using the same dies. I do realize with actual variety coin out there why there is no premium for them though. I am a pocket change commando. I'm not going and buying varieties or errors. Everything I share on here came from circulation though change. It just proves there are plenty great varieties and unique errors in circulation. I have found many unique one of a kind errors in circulation. Confirmation is where my frustration comes into play at this point. Thanks again

Nice, John1, Ken's link is one I lost. I also added the Lincoln Cent Resource, above, left that one out.
