It looks like this 1989p Quarter has a pretty nice clash on both the obverse and reverse. It also appears to me to be a late die state match for Variety Vistas DDO-001. I believe doubling is seen in LIBERTY,IGWT, Date and MM. It looks to me like the clash comes into the obverse to the right of the second 9 in 1989. Thanks in advance for any information or feedback on this coins situation.

There may be a clash but I see no doubled die and if you see the same doubling on the mm as elsewhere, then it is MD. The mint marks were hand punched through this date, into the existing die and it would not be doubled with the die. Now you could have an RPM with a doubled die but I do not see any of this.

@makescents, thank you for your responses. The markings on the MM might be from the clash or a possible hit but variety vista does have a listing for this year for a DDO which looked similar. The clashing looks like examples on Maddieclash for Atypical clashing on Washington quarters. I was looking for verification, confirmation or clarification from folks like yourself on either.

The doubling on the listed coin you are speaking of would take extremely sharp photos to confirm and there are no clashes listed for 89 on MDC. There may be a clash there but cannot confirm with these pics. Sorry I cannot help but maybe someone sharper than me, which are many, will be able to help.

@makescents, no worries, I appreciate your feedback as always. There is definitely something going on in the fields of the obverse and reverse of this Quarter. I'm going to put a few arrows pointing out my areas of concern.

I actually see what your talking about, just not sure it's clashing, it's in the right spots though.
