Item #250364452392, closed on ebay for one roll of unsearched wheat cents with a 1909-s on one end and a VDB on the other. The winning bid was $575. I guess I'm a little skeptical that it is unsearched and the odds of the two ends being what they happen to be, well call me skeptical. It would be interesting to know what real comes out of this roll.

My guess, everything in between is 40s and 50s, maybe a couple of 30s, and possibly one other semi-key seeded in there. No way does a roll have an 09S on one end and a VDB on the other by chance- chances are extremely, extremely rare. Call me skeptical, too.

I know that if I owned a roll with a 1909-S on one end and a 1909 VDB on the other that I wouldn't open it. Oh no - it might be a full roll of 1909's or even 1909-S pennies, but I wouldn't care about that. I haven't got the time to go through all this stuff. I just love to spread joy and happiness through the world. Blah blah blah. Blah.

Ya right!

I can't believe people are gullible enough to buy this tripe. Maybe I should start having ebay auctions where I sell a bridge in NY...

Here is the feedback from the buyer who bought the other (1909-S on each end) roll for $660. "Item as described. Great comm. Good mix but no surprises. Paid a bit too much."

Paid a bit too much, do ya think?

Wowsers. What a hoot. Duke.. .I saw that other roll for $666 also. Unbelievable. Reminds me of the famous quote by Thomas Tusser "A fool and his money are soon parted."

I feel bad for the innocent, and naive buyers. Then again, anyone spending $500+ in coin collecting should *hopefully* know better...

phdezra, I always thought P.T.Barnum, of Barnum, & Bailey had said that, before the depreddion. That dates me, but that is okay. Now you know I am the second oldest member. LOL

Hey Duke, if you tell them the whole description and not just what you want them to hear or your justifications then you might actually get a reply from me...by the way...the first roll had (5) 1909-S's in it with some other key dates just to let everybody know...Thanks

Golddust, here's the bad thing though.... You made a fatal mistake in assuming everyone here is a moron.

Look familiar? That's YOU buying 8 VDB cents about 2 weeks ago.

Look familiar? Wow, a 1909 S to go on the other end of one of the VDB's!

Oh Look! There's another one!
Oh Look! There's another one!
Oh Look! There's another one!
Oh Look! There's another one!

OK, I'm tired of cutting and pasting so here's all his recent purchases, so everyone can see how he ASSEMBLES his unsearched rolls.

Now please, by all means, dig your hole deeper and explain to us how this is all a coincidence. You're buying the 1909s for your cousin in Malaysia because he can't get them there right?

These types of auctions are not my cup of tea, but there are certain people who like the thril of the unknown.

Here is the link to the 1909-S double ended where the buyer thought he may have paid a little to much. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...260346709456

We have yet to hear from the winner of the http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...IC_ID=41909. It would be insiteful to know what came out of the roll.

And he has more to sell. What a surprise and the luck of "finding" more rolls with 1909-S and VDB on the ends. This person is so lucky he should stop selling coins, coats and tools and buy lotto tickets.

lol

Sellers like golddust rely on the uninformed public to make money (big money). Too bad they leave a trail behind them.

It is always good to know that more people are starting to realize what scams these are.
