7-Mace-2-Candareens-Real-Or-Fake?
7-Mace-2-Candareens-Real-Or-Fake?

Hello today I was at a mineral fair and one seller had some coins.
The seller did not know much about the coins. But she told me that she was told they where a silver alloy. Anyways for 12$ I figured it would probably be worth it for the silver alone. So I bought this one. At home I did some more research and found they are valued quite high but that there is also a lot of fakes.

With my scale I weighted it to be 26 - 27g (not very accurate jumps between the values)

It had some yellow tinge that went away really well with silver cleaner. (I did not fully clean it as I like the worn look)

Anyways I'd appreciate your opinions if this is a real one or not.

It seems quite worn "handled" and the image quality is not the best, but I'm also quite positive that that look can be faked

To me it doesn't look like the English name and the Chinese name for the province matches.
It looks like they do not belong on the same coin.
If true then it points to a common fake and no doubt having little or no elemental silver at all.

Unfortunately, Albert is correct. The province named on the English-language side is Kwangtung, the province named on the Chinese-language side is Kwanghsi. Close, but not quite.

A "mule" like this, with different provinces named on different sides, is a sure sign that it's a fake. Sorry. And I can guarantee that the fakes where mules are likely to occur are 100% never made of actual silver. The fake-makers only use real silver on the highest quality fake coins that are trying be good enough to fool even expert collectors.
