Given the pics posted, I'm seeing a heavily damaged 2011 D cent--harshly abraded reverse with zinc core showing. The coin didn't leave the striking chamber in this condition.
It's called POST MINT DAMAGE. How the damage occurred will never be known unless you caused it. Damage is simply damage, and since this sort of damage does not occur at the mint, it's post mint damage. It's worth 1 cent until it gets refused by a cashier or a bank as untouchable junk.
