1972 was the first year that the BOK made the 50 won coin and it is especially collectible these days for that reason. This coin in UNC can go from $40~$100+ depending on the different levels of UNC condition. This one is especially beautiful and will probably fetch towards the higher end of that range.

It could very well sell for a little more than $45. The grade is about MS-62/3. It is only when this coin is in 64, or really 65 that you see MUCH higher valuations in the $200+ range.
This coin is addressed in the new standard work on the subject, "South Korean Coins in the Era of Development."
