1887 Morgan. SF Or Philly VAM? - Coin Community Forum

passthepuck New Member United States 31 Posts	Posted 03/23/2022 4:26 pm I'm not sure if this is a Morgan from SF or not. Can find a VAM on this coin. There is no mint mark, so it could be Philly. I say it might be from SF because I have a Morgan with only the top of the "S" with serif. Report this Post to the Staff

mrwhatisit Pillar of the Community United States 2953 Posts	Posted 03/23/2022 6:24 pm I think I can shed some ideas here... with what others are saying, that it looks polished, with what looks like an S mintmark that got polished down to not very visible. Your second from last photo shows die scratches which can be a great way to pin down the VAM. If only this coin could talk... Report this Post to the Staff
