@blank, I'm not 100% sure exactly what you are talking about, despite the excellent pics. If you mean the extra bit under the bird's bill, that is a design element. If you mean the rough patch on the lower bill, that seems to be damage.

Yes, on the lower side of the bill, almost directly down from the eye, slightly left. I could see it being damage as a gouge with the displaced metal piled next to it, but the gouge seems smooth, and the pile almost appears disconnected from the displaced material. I wasn't sure if something else was going on, or just wear after the fact. Overall, it's in decent shape for pocket change so it had me guessing.

On the neck/beak area, that is die polishing that removed part of the fields on that area. The incuse mark is damage of the beak and the rim damaged. So it is nothing special. Check the sites for DDR's. They are closer in on the center area of the designs. http://doubleddie.com/2010837.htmlWhen you look these up, then you can see where to look for DDRs on these coins.
