One of the off-center coins I bought today. Just seems to have too many rings compared to others I've seen. I don't think it was multi-struck but can't figure out why there are so many rings.

I have a number of off center coins in my collection. Lately I've been adding a bunch of error coins since I have very little good material to go through for doubled dies.

Another nice one TB.

Do you think the multiple rings are from multiple collar clashes on the obv. die?
The reverse only seems to be struck one time.

I wonder if the collar clash(es) might have broken the collar die and created the opportunity for an out-of-collar strike?

I wonder if the rings could be a form of machine doubling/tripling

I also was wondering if it could be some kind of Machine Doubling as noted above. The die kind of bouncing its way down until the final strike position. I've seen a lot of these with stretching, usually showing up looking like long flow lines, just not rings.
