Yesterday I picked up a roll of quarters from my local bank. The roll was wrapped pretty bad. She almost didn't give it to me but I insisted. Hoping for some silver, I unwrapped as soon as possible. A quick glance of the edges revealed no silver. Then I realized all of them were bicentennial quarters. Now I didn't jump for joy, knowing I have gone through many "1975" quarters. But this roll was different. Each one was definitely hand picked for being as close to uncirculated as possible. Maybe in circulation for a few weeks. Plus no coin counting machine marks. I also picked up a few cent rolls and a dime and nickel roll. Same ugly wrapping. I'll keep you posted if I find anything worth mentioning. Needless to say I'm heading back to the bank to buy as many as possible.

A few years back, a buddy sold me 20 rolls of uncirculated bicentennials he'd been saving since a kid in the 70's. I searched them for keepers but ended up advertising on Craigslist for best offer over face. No interest shown so I cashed 'em in.

Were your quarters Philly or Denver mints (or both)? I keep a sharp eye out for the rare Bicentennial D quarter DDO. I found one in MS condition a few years ago in a customer wrapped roll.

Hey, anything unusual when coin hunting is a victory to me. I did a little research and it just seems nobody has a good grip on what is worth inspecting. I was hoping someone would tell me to keep an eye out for doubling or some variety or error. Thank you. There where 10 D the rest P. I'll give them a quick look through with the 10x. I have to compare my original bicentennial quarters and see if any of these look nicer. Yes I have a P and D in 2x2 already, because it is a coin and has a date on it. I think I may have the sickness. I usually buy lotto tickets with the remainder of things like this and kennedy halfs. It's a better investment.
