I have this 1974 Nickel with some fun chips. It has 3 different events. One on the upper rim obverse at TRUST. Doesn't appear like other dents I have on my coins, I could be wrong though. There is a chip like event on his neck. And what looks like a Cud but not really.. on the lower rim obverse below his shoulder. Whatever it is, it's always really fun to find. Can anyone help me identify the events on this one? Thank you so much! (I'm watching video's on mintage too, thanks for the advice to this newbie.)

a coin with that much post mint damage is difficult to assess for errors, all those marks can be made post mint

Oh really? The rim dent could easily be damage but the other ones are pretty cool anyhow. Plus it doesn't help that my photos are still awful. Investing soon in some kind of a microscope. Thanks so much! :)

Damage on the edge is pushing the metal into a void on the coin. It is just damage.

Ahhh I see. To me it looked a bit like extra metal on the face of the coin. But I wasn't sure about that spot. Thank you! Now to get better images so I can see clearly ;)

sounds like you're learning and having fun with this coin, which is a good thing

just be aware that most collectors don't treasure such coins because more like them can easily be made by dragging coins across pavement, smashing them with a hammer, etc.

I'm starting to realize that LOL. I am over excited about everything little thing I see. So far I only have 1 coin with spiked head/cracked skull and a tiny Cud. But I'm keeping it anyhow and getting some appropriate pages and 2x2's to keep everything in. Including all my wheat heads. I need to limit my posts because they probably don't belong here. But I love everyone's input and it really helps immensely. It really is super fun... I'm learning a lot!!!! But I also know absolutely nothing!!! I'm ok with that! haha ;) Thanks so much for your comment!
