If your 1948 is MS 67 and up you have a very valuable coin according to PCGS. :) Good Luck!

Here is a link to the only info that I have ever found pertaining to this set. I will post a few choice coins later to see if they are worthy of individual grades. I am leaning towards it being of greater value because of it being potentially connected to Mr David Bowers.

The album seems to be connected to bowers but I would assume the coins are not.

David Bowers and Co. not only design those catalogs, they also collect and put collection in place. In fact the main was David Lang (if I remember well). The material use for those pages, I never test in lab, but I see some collections after more then 30 years and are correct.

Have this is impressive if was acquired at an reasonable price.
