Quite unique, I've never seen a set like this. I wonder if the materials are inert? The coins look nice except for some with carbon spotting. Cool find!

Wow, never heard of this. Looks like a lot of potential value. So tell us, what date does the album start with?

The set begins with a 1937d and ends with a 1966. The last two spots contain a 37 and a 37d. I do agree with you that spotting is occurring. The hard clear plastic is definitely having an affect on the coins.

Wow - I have never seen or heard of this album either. Very nice coins! The modern counterpart would be an Encap album, but the pages are not as stiff as this and hold coin capsules.

. IMHO,the value of the set is going to be with the name recognition...Bowers. The coins seem to have issues. Someone who collects holders more so than the coins would be interested. John1

Some prefer building sets for themselves. I think that may be due to the thrill of the hunt. I have never heard of TPG's grading whole sets. A fabulous set, and beyond what most of us may be able to achieve, in this high average condition, where encapsulation of every coin seems to be obviously the right way to go. Encapsulation (hard acrylic plastic) in this case perfectly OK for nicely toned coins. A demonstration of dedication.

That is a cool album. I don't think separation of the set should be a large concern. With the few coins you show us they do seem to be above average mint state coins and you may have some possible gems. The years from 1937-1960's don't really have any key dates so condition is your best chance at higher value coins, however, finding coins that individually are worth over $100 would be very rare. Thus, grading costs would be prohibitive on an entire set. You might have a few high grade examples that would be worth grading and I would take the set to a local coin shop and get opinions if you are having a difficult time picking out the best coins to see if there is value to attempt grading. Or show us a few with great pictures individually and we can help!

due to the depth of the case I'm betting that there was at least one other book going from 1909-1936 to complete the set that was probably intended to sit vertically on a shelf. I think its cool.
as captainkurt stated not any rarities in these years however there may be a few higher grade ones that could command a nice premium if any of them would make 66 or more and pull an RD color. I would look through them and pick out a few that have a shot at 66RD and post them here. one coin per thread and the group can help assess those ones. if there is one there may be a few more sleepers hiding in there.
from the ones you posted here they appear to be in the 64-65 range. if these are the best of the lot then your probably dont have any higher end pieces in there

Crazy album, I've never seen one before. The value here may be more in the album itself versus the coins. They are all common date and generally only valuable at 66 and higher. I'm seeing MS-62/64 range coins.
Also, if that's hard plastic, it's not affecting the coins but the storage of the album probably is. These are probably not completely air tight capsules.
