I found two of these in a roll last night. On an MS coin the metal along the crack really stands up above the surface of the coin and wanted to try an odd angle for a photo. Didn't come out super awesome but here is the coin and my effort. Thinking maybe something like this would be good for Ray to image with his killer equipment and skills.

Interesting, touching the side of the coin. JC will be happy to have posted. If you do not have time I will do for you.

Looks like a nice die clash on the obverse as well.

Very nice example. I have a couple of '53 S cents with the same pre-cud feature--maybe AU55-58. They're in a 2x2 box somewhere, last I saw 'em.

Nice image showing the vertical height of the metal.
This is much better than a simple die crack. This is a really nice example of a pre-cud.

If the reverse had been the hammer die the piece of the die would have definitely fallen out by the time this coin was minted and produced a Cud.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.

Yeah, it's a pre Cud not just a die crack, but admittedly I started that by talking about the "crack" when I really should have said "break".
