It loos like a nice example of the 1798 JR-4 variety, R-3.
Based on the pictures it is difficult for me to assess the grade. However, if it is truly an AU50, then it would be a very special coin to have.
All draped bust dimes are scarce to rare. Of the 3 years you mention, I believe 1802 would be the scarcest, followed by 1801, then 1798.

I pulled the trigger on this, for 5300 dollars. It is a big purchase, but it seems like a decent deal and nice enough coin! Thanks for your input! I should receive it at the end of this week or early next week.

It arrived! I literally sell my landscape and cityscape photography from all over the world. I love using my camera--yet, taking photos of little silver discs through plastic slabs challenges me. I would not say that I am good at it. Here are my attempts at photographing this coin. It has more luster than my camera shows, especially on the reverse, although maybe it was dipped at some point? It is MUCH lighter than my 1797 dime (you can see the post about that on this forum). I like the coin--I am confident in my purchase, as it is a big one. Do you guys think 5300 is decent for this piece in this market?

Looks great, with decent luster! I agree, lighting is tough through plastic.

Sorry to dredge this one back, but PCGS took another True View picture. Here it is. The imperfections (color, scratches, etc) are all MUCH more exaggerated in this true view picture. It's far from perfect, but it seems that AU Draped Bust dimes are few and far between. It's not too bad for a Draped Bust dime that doesn't cost 5 or 6 figures, is it?

Much better photos and you can see the surface color now. Some light scratches are present on the neck but otherwise I see very little wear and looks to be AU-50.
