@chris, a Kennedy half dollar would weigh nearly twice as much as this coin. What makes you think it was struck on a half dollar planchet?

A Kennedy half dollar made from quarter stock is 5.8 so I just thought vis versa had know

The tolerance for a quarter is +-.19g so your quarter is within spec.
