Yes definitely brighter photos will help, I don't see anything that screams fake to me from what I can see though. It is a pretty expensive key date in the Three Cent Nickel dates. So for sure we need better photos to tell one way or the other.

Considering the low mintage (about 10,000 or so) and the condition of this coin I would be highly suspect about the authenticity too. Large bold clear pics needed for the experts to help you.

Always remove coins from 2x2 holders before taking photos. Please remove the coin from 2x2 and take new pics with just a bit more light. John1

Even with the underlit images I can see the obverse is complete mush. Absolutely no detail in the center of the portrait - cast counterfeit in my opinion.

Last year, a dealer friend of mine pulled a similar fake Three Cent piece from a bag of foreign coins. Made in China, I suspect. A few years ago, the same dealer found a 1794 Half Cent that was also resting in a bag of foreign coins. That one was genuine, so I bought it!
