I have found a few dimes with this on the torch but first one with it on his face. Is it Cud or die chips? Not sure of the difference and is this something collector's in general care about. I certainly thought it was interesting.

Die chips. Also some Machine Doubling on some of the chips. The die is showing it age and the strike was sloppy, thus removing some of the contour of the devices from a high bounce after the strike. Aging die, (die event)and a sloppy loose machine. (Striking issue) Not a premium for this coin.

to the CCF and . Thats a lot of die chips keep it if you want. A Cud is when a piece of the die chips off on the rim. Which leaves the area unstruck and it will make it look like extra metal on the coin.
