Likely someone try to coat the coin with silver or silver like substance, quite common in the 1960s when the humble pennies with low face value were eagerly vandalised by children. It even looks like soccer ball markings! Possibly an effect of the 1966 World cup victory by England? No special interest here sorry. Report this Post to the Staff
