Anything that is not North America. People here, know as much about the DARKSIDE of the moon as they do foreign coinage!

As many other countries have populations less than the US there are less collectors of foreign coinage.
Many Americans now collect "Darkside" coins and banknotes having found there is less competition for them.

there is also greater variety and many of the foreign coins are much nicer to look at than most US coins and ...

The convention, as established on the CU forum back in 2003 and modified slightly for the more international membership we have here at CCF:

liteside = coins from your own country. Note the spelling "lite" rather than "light", to distance the terminology from Star Wars.

greyside = coins from nearby countries, that you're likely to find in change. They're not "lite", but they're not completely "dark", either - so they're grey. It's why the Canadian subforum is labelled the "grey area" on the forum home page: because to Americans, Canada is "greyside".

darkside = coins from faraway, exotic lands.

farside = tokens, medals and other exonumia.

There aren't normally enough of us to rate a mention. One of the originators of the terminology jokingly suggested "Middle Dark" for mediaeval coins and "Deep Dark" for ancients.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis
