Got a pair of Buffalo nickels in the mail today. This is the first one, and honestly the doubling is so strong and all over the coin that I am just using full coin images.

Very nice examples both nicer than the ones I have in my variety set.

Where'd you come across these bats? Assuming both were unattributed.

Thanks! Both the FS-101 and 102 were recent cherrypicks from ebay. A friend of mine spotted them and let me run with it and I ended up getting them both. My inclination here is to send them to PCGS and see how they come in. There aren't all that many of either of them graded, although that may be a function of the value lost to grading on anything not top end.

Another very nice one! If you do send them to PCGS I hope you get good results.

Very nice! Hard to beat a nice Buff with added attractions like these two you showed us.

Congrats again!

Definitely some strike weakness present. Marks noticeable at the 2nd feather, braid, hair above braid, nostril, and the usual points on the buffalos shoulder, area surrounding the horn, and center ground below the buff are all planchet marks not removed from strike. A number of small tic marks here and there, light obverse spotting, and slightly subdued luster has me at MS63
Edit: might squeeze out a 64 on a Friday
