I did see those, but looking at my Krause catelogue my coins seemed smaller than a 4 falus. I was thinking, perhaps, a 1 and 2 falus in terms of size, but then I don't see any designs/writing that are close

I agree they are from Morocco. The size of the coins in mm would go a long way in identifying them.

23mm for the first one and 20mm for the second (the measurements are hidden amongst the pics!)

Coin #1 looks like a Marrakesh mint 2 falus, sated 127?, listed in Krause as KM/C# 126b.3. The last date is illegible, but according to Krause (if I've got the ID right) the options are 1274, 1275 and 1276.

Coin #2 looks like a Fes mint 2 falus dated 1287, listed in Krause as KM/C# 163a.2.

North Africa (most notably Morocco) is peculiar in that it uses the Islamic Hejira calendar, but writes the numbers of the date in "western" numerals. AH 1287 occurred mostly during 1870 AD.

Thanks everyone. Sap, those were the best I could come up with too, but not being familiar with such items the difference in the writing was throwing me off. Again, thanks very much

Strictly speaking they are not from Morocco but issued under the "Alawi (Fileyli) Sharifs"
