'Abbasids/ Hamdanids, al-Muttaqi, 940-944, AR dirham, Madinat al-Salam, AH 331, citing the heir Abu Mansur and the Hamdanid chief amirs, Sayf al-Dawla Abu'l-Hasan & Nasir al-Dawla Abu Muhammad, Album 261/ 748.

Coins dated 330 and 331 are traditionally classified as 'Abbasid. According to Album, "Although commonly collected as Hamdanid, they cite the names of the Hamdanid brothers not as independent rulers, but as chief amirs to the 'Abbasid caliph al-Muttaqi, who is also cited. Nonetheless, their inscriptions are identical to Hamdanid dynastic issues struck later at al-Mawsil and elsewhere."
