I'm not really a Lincoln Cent collector but over the last few years I've managed to buy some bulk bags of wheat cents and I have accumulated couple thousand. I can't justify the expense of putting them all in flips but I'd like to be able to see them from time to time so rolls don't work.
I'm thinking of putting the best condition for each date and mint mark in 2x2's and buying the 42 slots per page sheets to put in notebooks. What strategies do other collectors have? Are Whitman or Dansco albums safe for cents?

If you can make up nearly complete sets, do so, then ebay them.

If they are lower grade a folder will be fine. Albums are for nicer higher grades, IMHO.

I have the same issue. Here is my solution. I have two of these coin safe boxes of 100 tubes for cents (Indians to moderns) and one for my nickels.

What-To-Do-With-All-The-Wheaties?

This allows me to hold a roll of each year at a minimum. Plenty of space for special s mint years or some BU rolls, or whatever. If I get too many in one particular year tho, I cull them back down to a roll and sell solid date rolls off on ebay. This makes searching for varieties and such very easy.

Now, my best example of each coin goes in a 2x2 placed in my master collection binder (add airtight if valuable enough), my second best in a dansco style binder, third best in a simple folder.

Captainkurt.love your approach. I think I'll do the same.

I thought it, you posted it..

Dansco albums and 2x2's for uncirculated and coin tubes for the circulated over-flow.

I use the same coinsafe tubes as captainkurt, they are cheap and made with quality material. I have five or six boxes (box=100 tubes) for cents, two boxes for nickels, one box for dimes, one box for quarters, and one box for halves.

I have dansco albums to hold the best date/mint example.

I would go with Dansco - but then I have all my display coins in Dansco albums..
Same. My Lincoln cents have been happy in their Dansco home for nearly 38 years.
