***2nd revisionon*** OMG! What was done to this beautiful note! Third time's the charm in showing the defects - Some of us are slow on the uptake at times. Thanks for your patience and help Please still give it a shot at grade and value. ***Revised Photos from original post*** Sorry about the lighting on the original photos. Obviously I'm not experienced in photographing currency. Now with the side lighting I see a center fold, and a slight crinkle in the top left corner of the obverse. Dang! Please give grade and value. Thanks again ***Original Post*** I am helping a dear friend who just lost her husband a few months ago. We were cleaning out a desk drawer when I spotted this note. My pictures probably don't do it justice. Very crisp, no folds or pin holes, and pristine. The threads jump out at you. I was hoping to get a consensus on the grade you experts would expect if PCGS grading is done, and value. I have great hopes for the note and my friend. Thanks! Edited by adsway 04/15/2022 3:22 pm

If the note grades UNC and also gets the PPQ designation, I would value it between $500-$600. I would like to see photos of the note with side lighting.

With the photos you attached, there is no way for us to see any small imperfections or old folds that have been pressed out years ago. The side lighting technique will help us all see what's going on across the bill and give you a more accurate idea of the grade. With that said, grading paper via photos is always tough.

Correct - best we can do is offer an opinion based on a side-light image.

Your revised photos are slightly better, but try it again just laying a flashlight next to it as Steve shows.

Based on the photos it might make high AU. My dealer has one slabbed in AU58 for $380, I wouldn't pay that much for yours maybe $280-$300 if I saw it in person.

Based on second revision (thanks), I'll say EF with original paper, retail about $250.

Mid-range AU and would probably get PQ designation.

Thanks to all for the feedback and walking me through the posting/photo process. Do you think it is worthwhile getting this note graded? Is there consensus on the best couple of companies to do the grading, and about how much should I expect to pay for the service?

This appears to be FR-727, and worth perhaps $200 in this condition.
