A friend has three 1964 Nickels he seems t think they are worth a lot I told him $0.05 but not my area of expertise so I said I would here

With the images above, I see a common, well-worn '64 nickel with some post-strike damage.

You was right for the price of the coin. That year you can say is worth only if it is 66 or 67 FS (full steps). The rest forgot. The proofs are almost nothing till 69 and FS and other valuable it is the SMS which you do not find in the wild or exchange.
