I have been thinking of a competition to celebrate my 500th post, which I will have NOW reached very soon
I thought a little coin country of origin identifying might be fun
Over the next 11 days I am going to put a picture a day up of a different coin
What you have to do is identify the country each coin is from
But don't post your answers until you have all 11 countries
The first person to post a guess with all 11 countries correct wins!
As a clue, the first letters of the countries will spell out QUICKSILVER
You don't have to identify the coins (unless you want to for fun) just the countries they are from
And what do you win? Why all 11 coins of course!
Feel free to ask questions or give me feedback as we go to let me know how you are doing
I hope you all enjoy the competition
To get us started here is the Q coin

So... when can we post the names of all 11? Right after the last coin has been posted? And I know this one! It's sitting on top of my Darksider bucket!

Thanks for the contest! This will be a challenge since I have a hard time with the darkside coins. Never a better time than now to start learning their identity.

Does anyone think this may be too difficult? How about if I post both sides of each coin, just with the country name removed?

I think 1 side only is more challenging

You could always post the second side (one per day? )if nobody has figured them out after the 11th coin has been up a few days.

are they all going to be modern countries, or will you include ones like Rhodesia?

Come on you've got the first letter of each country - 1 side is enough!
^ yes, if a country like Rhodesia is posted - should we say Rhodesia (the name as is on the coin) or the current name?

OK, I think I agree with the one side is enough comment. As DL20K has said you already have the first letter so there won't be too much Krause to go through! I will do what xshift suggests and start putting up the second sides if it gets to day 12. All the countries/coins I have chosen are after 1950. They may or may not have had political changes within their countries. And all the names will be as they were when the coins were issued. Ok, I think that covers it. Any more questions just post and I will answer.

Don't forget to shut off your PM address just before you post the eleventh coin.
