I'm not quite sure precisely what this is or where it originated, I just know I liked it for its high relief strike and pleasing overall appearance. About 21 mm in diameter, with the weight being a hefty 9.65 grams.
I think it may be an issue of Caracalla. Would I be correct in interpreting the "L" and "B" on the reverse as signifying regnal year 2?
Thank you. Although I hadn't said so I was in fact leaning towards Alexandria as the mint, but I was way off on the emperor. It would appear this has been cataloged as Milne 4228.
