have five pennies with green stains. this one is the worst with the stain or grease marking. even though it has coin wrapper marks on coin. fresh out of a roll from a box of 2021 pennies

Some type of environmental damage, not an error or variety.

if that green stuff can be moved with a toothpick. it's similar to what I've seen on fresh dimes recently, and I suspect it's green grease from the mint's press or from a machine where the coin was put in rolls

Probably wet paper and green ink stained the coin. Spender. When the plating wears off, the green will also go away.

the green stuff can't be move but it is staining the coins. the other mark is a rough surface on the coin which has a little depth to it. I don't think it could be environmental since they came out of a box of stringer pennies from PA thanks for the info now that they are not keeper but spenders thanks again

I'm surprised it is on a newer date. Usually I used to see on coins I have stashed away or end up in rolls.
