Is it just me or does this look like George is sporting an ear ring? What do you think caused this?

Interesting thread and thanks for the info and link LOM. I would have thought this was solder or something else and was PSD.
It just seems too symmetrical to be a die break and the overall donut shape resembles part of a pop rivet (although it might be too small for that).

I agree with the assertion in the link about it being a die anomaly from a previous struck-through and it's definitely worth saving.

In the link from 2019(?) they say these are going for more than the W mint mark quarters. Wonder if that's still the case?

Yes we have seen these posted here previously, but glad @lom was able to so quickly remember that. Seems like this quarter is worthy of saving in a 2x2.

Thanks all! I will save it in a 2x2. Wish it was in a little better shape. It is very symmetrical, that is what made me think maybe not a die break.
