No, not a variety, just a 1982 large date cent that has suffered extensive die polishing, removing some of the device elements.

Yes but they are not varieties. Just too much polishing of the dies.

Just a die event coin. Note even the face was partly polished off the die. (also the statue is almost missing) A variety coin is on the die from the first coin forward. That is not the case with the die that struck your coin. It is aged and polished and altered. A die events altered this die.
